Dr. Andrea Dinardo
Dr. Dinardo obtained her M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from Western University. She received the New Researcher Award from the American Educational Research Association (AERA) for her doctoral research: “An experimental analysis of the effects of teacher enthusiasm on student attention, motivation, and learning”.
As a registered psychologist specializing in school and counselling psychology, she spent 17 years working with students, educators, and their families. In 2016, she chose to retire her psychological practice to focus full-time on teaching, writing, and speaking.
Her blog “Thriving under Pressure” was created in response to rising levels of student stress and anxiety. The purpose of the blog is to help students develop coping techniques in fun, interactive, and uplifting ways.By first focusing on what is right, before examining what is wrong, students are motivated to move beyond, and in some cases, be transformed by challenge and adversity.
